Wigtown Book Festival 2019

Now that the Christmas break is over and the new Semester is in full swing for us in the Illustration department, we have been reflecting on 2019 and all of the exciting opportunities that came with it.

In September, we had the opportunity to take our House Style project to Wigtown Book Festival, where illustrations from students and staff were exhibited in a public installation in the main entrance to the festival.

The project saw every student, from Stage 1 to MFA2, and all members of staff choose a book published in the UK in the past 20 years and create one illustration in response. The illustrations were grouped into four different colours and exhibited as hanging banners.

The banners hung in the centre of the winding staircase and visitors to the festival were able to see the illustrations as they climbed.

A huge thank you to everyone at Wigtown Book Festival for working on this project with us!
